Weapons for police won’t be procured immediately: PM Deuba

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress President and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said he would not allow immediate buying of arms for Nepal Police under any circumstances.

He added he had also directed the Home Minister in this regard.

Leaders Gopalman Shrestha and Arjun Nar Singh KC had raised questions about the weapons being bought by the police at the ongoing meeting of the NC Central Committee meeting on Thursday.

“Weapons are not necessary for Nepal Police right now. That is not going to happen,” NC President Deuba told the Central Committee assembly.
