JSP ousts nine executive members, including Dr. Bhattarai

KATHMANDU: The establishment faction of Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) relieved nine Executive Committee members, including Federal Council Chair Dr. Baburam Bhattarai, of their posts.

A meeting of the Central Executive Committee convened by Chairman Upendra Yadav in Birgunj on Tuesday has sacked Bhattarai and elected Ashok Rai as the Chairman of the Federal Council.

Leaders, including Bhattarai, Ganga Narayan Shrestha, Prashant Singh, Mahendra Ray Yadav, Hisila Yami, Bhakta Bahadur Shah, Dan Bahadur Chaudhary, Ramesh Yadav and Durga Sob have been ousted from the party.

Baburam faction of the party had called a separate meeting of the Executive Committee two days ago in Kathmandu and decided to reorganization of the party.

The two sides already have an agreement on amicably parting ways.
