Nepal sees 260 new coronavirus cases in past 24 hours



KATHMANDU: Witnessing an uptick in COVID-19 cases in the past few days, Nepal recorded a total of 260 new cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours as of Thursday.

Out of the confirmed cases, 214 were detected through the RT-PCR method and 46 through the Antigen method.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, a total of 3,844 swab samples were tested in the past 24 hours. Of them, 2,027 samples were tested through RT-PCR and 1,817 through the Antigen method.

Currently, there are 1,171 active cases in the country as 48 infected patients recovered in the past 24 hours.

No person died due to coronavirus in the past 24 hours. The COVID-19 death toll in the country remains constant at 11,952 to date.
