Deputy Speaker of HoR: Bhusal and Bhattarai file nominations



KATHMANDU: Pushpa Bhusal of the Nepali Congress (NC) and Bidya Bhattarai of CPN-UML have filed their nominations for the vacant post of Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR).

The election to the post of Deputy Speaker of the HoR will be held on Friday.

Lawmaker Bhusal represents the ruling coalition while Bhattarai represents the main opposition – the CPN-UML party.

Bhusal registered her nomination with the support of Dev Prasad Gurung of the Maoist Center and Laxmi Kumari Chaudhary of the Unified Socialist Party on Thursday.

Likewise, Bhattarai registered her candidature on the proposal of UML whip Shanta Chaudhary and with the support of lawmaker Krishna Bhakta Pokhrel.
