Price of petroleum products hiked by Rs 10 effective Saturday midnight

The government has increased the prices of diesel, petrol and kerosene by Rs 10 per liter.

A meeting of Board of Directors of Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) chaired by Commerce Secretary Dr. Ganesh Prasad Pandey decided to this effect.

With this price hike, a liter of petrol will cost Rs 170 and the price of diesel and kerosene will cost Rs 153 per liter.

UML wins six local bodies

The results of the local level election have started trickling in.

So far, results of 12 local levels have been declared. Of which, the CPN-UML has won the most six local levels.

Similarly, Nepali Congress (NC) has secured wins in four local bodies and CPN-Unified Socialist (CPN-US) in two. Likewise, the CPN-Maoist Center registered victory in one local body.

Reelection to take place in Barahathawa municipality-17

A reelection will take place in Barahathawa Municipality-17 in Sarlahi district as the May 13 local election was disrupted, the District Election Office said.

Various political parties, including the Nepali Congress and CPN-UML, and independent candidates accused the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) of preventing voters from others parties to vote, resulting in an election disruption, according to the Office.

NC wins in Nepalgunj sub-metropolis-23

Nepali Congress (NC) has secured a win in Nepalgunj Sub-metropolitan City-23 in Banke district.

Jabbar Ali Behana, a chair candidate in ward 23 from the NC, secured 232 votes while his closest rival Hussein Shesh from the Janata Samajbadi Party got 194 votes.
