KATHMANDU: Khel Raj Pandey of the Nepali Congress has taken a wide lead in Butwal Sub-metropolitan City.
According to the latest poll results in which a total of 1,400 votes have been counted so far, Pandey has secured 603 votes. Pandey is also the common mayor candidate of the ruling coalition.
Mrigendra Kumar Sherchan of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) is behind Pandey with 302 votes in the mayoral race.
Similarly, the CPN-UML, which had won the sub-metropolis in 2017 election, has stood third so far. UML candidate Baburam Bhattarai has got 239 votes.
Likewise, RPP’s Bhagwati Pandey is ahead with 319 votes in the deputy mayoral race. UML’s Sabitri Aryal is chasing RPP’s Pandey with 294 votes in the deputy mayoral race. Coalition’s deputy mayor candidate Chin Bahadur Gurung has 243 votes so far.
