Vote count begins in Pokhara



POKHARA: The counting of votes of Pokhara Metropolitan City has started in Pokhara.

According to Election Office, Kaski, an all-party meeting of held on Saturday morning agreed to start the counting of the votes after 2 pm this afternoon. However, as the representatives took some more time, the counting started late.

In Pokhara, Dhanraj Acharya is the mayoral candidate from the ruling coalition while Krishna Thapa is the CPN-UML candidate.

According to the Election Office, ballot boxes of 8 out of 33 wards will be opened and counted at once. Out of the 207,712 voters in the 33 wards of the metropolis, 143,226 votes were cast on Friday.
