NC wins in Mustang’s Gharpajhong rural municipality

KATHMANDU: Mohan Singh Lalchan of Nepali Congress (NC) has been elected as the chairman of Gharpajhong rural municipality of Mustang district.

He defeated the CPN-UML candidate by a slim margin of two votes.

NC’s Lalchan won the election with 760 votes. His closest rival Sanjay Kumar Thakali from UML got 758 votes.

Similarly, NC’s Jamuna Thapa Magar won the election with 693 votes. Her closest rival Mim Kumari Sherchan from UML got 618 votes.

According to the Chief Election Office, 1,598 votes were cast in Gharapzhong municipality.

UML panel has won in ward 3 and NC panel in ward 4.
