UML recommends five names including Bidya Sundar for Kathmandu mayor



KATHMANDU: The CPN-UML has recommended the names of five persons, including the current mayor Bidya Sundar Shakya, for the post of mayor and four for the post of deputy mayor.

UML has recommended Bidya Sundar Shakya, Ram Bir Manandhar, Keshab Sthapit, Nirmala Deula and Indira Pant as mayors for the local level election to be held on May 13.

Similarly, Ratna Gurung, Pemba Lama, Nina Kafle and Shanti Adhikari have been recommended for the post of deputy mayoral candidate.

The UML metropolitan committee on Thursday recommended the names for the mayor and deputy mayor of the Kathmandu metropolis.
