NC leader Janga Bahadur elected President in Sindhupalchowk

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress leader Janga Bahadur Tamang has been elected as the president of NC Sindhupalchowk District Working Committee.

Janga Bahadur defeated his contestant Bansha Lal Tamang by 64 votes to get elected as the president.

In the election held on Sunday under the district convention of the NC, Janga Bahadur got 912 votes while his closest rival Bansha Lal secured 848 votes.

A total of 1,783 votes were cast in the election. Janga Bahadur is from the establishment side while Bansha Lal had been backed by Dr Shekhar Koirala panel.

Prem Dhwaj Lama who became third in the first phase of elections had supported Janga Bahadur.
