UML not to participate in all-party meeting convened by Speaker



KATHMANDU: Main opposition CPN-UML is not going to participate in an all-party meeting called by Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota.

UML has been disrupting parliamentary proceedings stating that Speaker Sapkota did not publish the notice regarding the action taken against its 14 lawmakers.

UML has been stating that the Speaker must publish the notice or has to step down from his post.

Chief whip Bishal Bhattaraia has stated that the UML will not attend the all-party meeting called by the Speaker today.

“An all-party meeting has been called to dwell on contemporary issues and impeachment. We won’t participate in the meeting,” said Bhattarai.

Speaker Sapkota has convened an all-party meeting for 2 pm today to discuss latest political developments with the lawmakers represented in the parliament.

Earlier, UML had not attended the all-party meeting called by Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba.
