India logs 33,291 new COVID-19 cases, 378 deaths in last 24 hrs

NEW DELHI:  India reported 33,291 new COVID-19 cases and 378 deaths in the last 24 hours, according to the latest figures collated by Worldometers.

With this, the country’s cumulative case tally reached 42,664,712, while the death toll has mounted to 509,043. The active cases further declined to 9,94,891, comprising 2.35 percent of the total infections.

A total of 81,005 patients recovered in the last 24 hours and the cumulative tally of recovered patients since the beginning of the pandemic is now at 41,666,716.

The testing capacity across the country continues to be expanded as the country conducted so far conducted 74,29,08,121 cumulative tests. Currently, 488,953 COVID-19 patients are undergoing treatment at various hospitals and isolation centers across the country. Of them, the condition of 8,944 is critical.
