Lalita Niwas land scam: CIB intensifying investigation further



KATHMANDU: The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) has started further investigation into the scam of Baluwatar-based Lalita Niwas land following the return of its report from the government attorney office.

CIB had submitted a report with its opinion to the government attorney office on January 6, 2022, after completing its investigation convicting as many as 300 people. Following the return of the report from the government attorney office citing the need for further investigation, the CIB has initiated further analyzing the facts and documents.

CIB Spokesperson and Superintendent of Police (SP) Shyam Kumar Mahato said, “The government attorney office has sent a directive. We would do the needful as per the directive”. He further said the CIB had submitted separate reports of four cases to the government attorney office after completing the investigation.
