NC disapproves of Indian occupation of road expansion in Lipulekh

KATHMANDU: The ruling Nepali Congress (NC) has raised objections to the upgradation of a road by the Indian side on Nepal’s territory Lipulek.

NC general secretaries Gagan Thapa and Bishwa Prakash Sharma, making public their views Friday evening, objected to Indian occupation of constructing a road in Lipulek.

The NC demanded to halt the construction of road in Lipulek saying it was serious issue.

The NC, saying Lipulek, Limpiyadhura and Kalapani were Nepali territory, was of the view that Nepal should be able to utilize the areas.

Stating that the Indian Army should withdraw from Kalapani, the NC said that the border dispute should be resolved on the ground work laid by Sugauli Treaty that was accepted by both the countries.
