Australian Ambassador Felicity pays courtesy call on Home Minister Khand

KATHMANDU: Minister for Home Affairs Bal Krishna Khand and Australian Ambassador to Nepal, Felicity Volk, held a meeting Friday.

During the meeting at the Home Ministry, they discussed the matter of further strengthening friendly relations between Nepal and Australia, according to the Home Minister’s Secretariat.

On the occasion, Home Minister Khand thanked the Australian government for its continued support in Nepal’s development and urged it to provide vaccine support in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic. He also asked the Australian Ambassador for the management of Bhutanese refugees residing in Nepal and for making arrangements to Nepali students for their smooth study in Australia.

Similarly, the Home Minister urged Ambassador Volk to increase the working time duration of Nepali students in Australia as they get only 20 hours to work in a week.

Saying they were always ready to lend support for the same, the Australian Ambassador assured that she would take initiative to create an environment convenient for Nepali students for study.
