17 die in Kavre bus mishap



KAVRE: At least 17 people have died in a bus accident in Bethanchok-4, Kavre on Tuesday evening.

According to District Police Office sources, at least 17 people died when Ba 3 Kha 4385 bus met with an accident at a place called Sallafed of Chalal Ganeshsthan  in Bethan Chowk-4, Kavre at around 6 pm .

The deceased are yet to be identified.

Out of the injured passengers, 14 were taken to Shir Memorial Hospital for treatment. Four of the injured sent to Shir Memorial have been sent to Kathmandu for further treatment.

The police informed that the reserve bus carrying the participants of Chhewar ceremony organized at Bethankchowk-5 met with an accident while returning back to Banepa-11.

The number of passengers in the bus has not been figured out yet.

Nepal Police and Nepali Army teams have intensified the rescue work.
