Rs 3.5 million collected to set up health unit

MYAGDI: Mangala Rural Municipality-1 of Myagdi district has collected the monetary assistance of over Rs 3.5 million to set up a community health facility at Puna village.

The monetary assistance was collected from a weeklong shreemad bhagawad ceremony held from December 1.

The ceremony organizing committee’s publicity coordinator Khagendra Khatri informed that more than Rs 3.5 million was collected in cash while some quintals of rice and barely were the proceeds.

The people from Puna village became active to set up the health facility after they were forced to walk a long distance to receive even a basic health service, Khatri added. There are more than 200 households in the village.
