EC directs two municipalities to conduct voters’ education program



KATHMANDU: The Election Commission (EC) directed two municipalities in Siraha to immediately conduct voters’ education program.

It instructed the Chair and the Chief Administrative Officer of Sakhuwa Nankarkatti rural municipality and the Mayor and the Chief Administrative Officer of the Sukhipur municipality in Siraha district to run the voter education program in an effective way.

The election constitutional body directed the two local levels to immediately conduct the voter education program.

According to article 247 of the Constitution, it is the responsibility of the federal, provincial and local governments to provide the employees and other support required by the EC to carry out its works, the EC has stated.
