EC directs offices concerned to take action against employees breaching code of conduct



KATHMANDU: The Election Commission (EC) has directed the concerned offices chiefs to take departmental action against the government employees, university teachers, teachers and other concerned individuals breaching election code of conduct released for the House of Representatives and Province Assembly elections to take place on coming November 20.

EC Spokesperson Shaligram Poudel informed that the EC secretariat would initiate action against the office chiefs if they refused to take action against the code of conduct violators as per the EC directive.

Also, the EC has directed the Nepal Police and National Investigation Department to closely monitor the violation of election code of conduct possibly from political parties and candidates and election expenses by mobilizing their local structures and report the details to the EC to this effect.
