President certifies five bills, excluding Citizenship Bill

KATHMANDU: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has certified five bills received from the House of Representatives (HoR).

President Bhandari, however, is yet to authenticate the Nepal Citizenship Act (Amendment) Bill, which was approved by both houses of the parliament twice and sent to the President’s Office.

Spokesperson for the President’s Office Sagar Acharya, issuing a statement on Tuesday, informed that the President authenticated five bills as per Article 113 (2) of the Constitution of Nepal, 2015.

The bills authenticated on Tuesday include Bill to Amend and Integrate Statistics Act, Standard, Measurement and Weight Act (Amendment) Bill, Accreditation Bill, Yogmaya Ayurveda University Bill and Bill Related to Oath of Office.
