PM Deuba-led government claims it ended instability, misgovernance



KATHMANDU: The government led by Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has claimed it ended political instability and misgovernance caused by the previous CPN-UML government.

The government, in its report released on the occasion of its 100-days, has claimed that the country was able to move forward democratically.

The government has claimed that the local elections were held peacefully within the stipulated time, and that its priority to control COVID-19, and to vaccinate all eligible citizens were also accomplished.

The Supreme Court had dissolved the cabinet led by the then Prime Minister KP Oli and issued a mandamus to appoint Sher Bahadur Deuba as the Prime Minister.

The government in its report has publicized 43 works that have been accomplished within 100 days of its formation.

The tasks accomplished by the government include a special package to revive the affected economy, successful economic mobilization, adoption of foreign policy based on national interest, and provision of the special economic package for crisis industries.

It has also claimed that the tourism business saw growth, and that it was able to work satisfactorily in sectors such as communication, transportation and uplift of working-class, poor, and unemployed people, among others.

Likewise, it has also claimed a balanced ‘Nepal First’ foreign policy has been implemented, an investment-friendly environment has been created and the private sector has been encouraged to achieve economic stability.

The government has listed the acceleration of National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management, endorsement of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), Establishment of Land Commission and Identity of Landless and Squatters by Land Commission, announcement of Distribution of Parts to 500,000 Landless, including other works as its major achievements during the period.
