Two arrested with 10 turtles



KATHMANDU: Police have arrested two persons with turtles from Koteshwor in Kathmandu.

Acting on a tip-off, a team deployed from Metropolitan Police Sector, Koteshwor arrested Raj Deula, 25, and Rahul Deula, 20, of Kirtipur Municipality-9 along with 10 turtles on Sunday evening.

Spokesperson of the Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu, Superintendent of Police Dinesh Raj Mainali said that they were arrested for illegally trafficking in endangered wildlife at Portobello Cafe House at Koteshwor, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-32.

Police have recovered 10 turtles, three mobile phone sets from different companies, and a motorcycle (Ba 99 Pa 4944) from them.

Spokesperson Mainali said that a team from Metropolitan Police Sector, Koteshwar was investigating the case.
