Polling disrupted at 32 centers across the country



KATHMANDU: Voting has been stopped in 32 polling centers across the country under the ongoing local elections.

According to Chief Election Commissioner Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya, polling has been suspended in 32 polling centers due to various reasons and efforts are being made to resume it soon.

“The election has been peaceful all across the country but for some 32 polling centers; the elections were somehow disrupted in 32 centers; however, respective polling officials are continuing their efforts to resume the voting,” the Chief Election Commissioner said.

According to Thapaliya, the  elections in some places in Kavre, Humla, Jumla, Saptari, Rautahat, and Bajhang have been suspended for some time and will resume.

An all-party meeting of the parties has decided to stop the polling at a polling station in Dakneshwari Municipality of Saptari. The polling has been slated for Sunday in Dakneshwori.
