Counting will start on Friday evening: EC

Voting concludes in four voting centers in northern Gorkha



KATHMANDU: The counting of votes cast to elect the local level representatives will start this evening, the Election Commission (EC) said.

According to Election Commission Spokesperson Shaligram Sharma Poudel, the counting will start today after the all-party discussion.

According to him, more than 37 percent of votes have been cast by 1 pm.

Apart from sporadic incidents, the polling started at 7 am and was conducted peacefully and enthusiastically.

Out of 753 municipalities across the country, voting is taking place in 21,955 polling stations of all the municipalities except one municipality of Kapilvastu.

Voting concludes in four centers in North Gorkha

Voting ended in four polling centers in Chumanubri Rural Municipality, in the northern region of Gorkha.

According to sources, four centers established in Ward No. 1 and 4 have concluded that no voters are left to visit the centers. The officials are counting hours to make 5 pm as there are no voters to cast the ballots now.
