Tension flares in Dolakha as party cadres clash with each other



KATHMANDU: Tension has flared at Baiteshwor rural municipality in Dolakha following skirmishes that occurred soon after the polling began this morning.

The polling has been halted in wards 1, 2 and 3 after the clashes erupted among the party cadres, informed Polling Officer of Baiteshwor rural municipality Bashista Kumar Ghimire.

A huge security personnel have been deployed to take the situation under control. According to Ghimire, efforts are underway to resume the voting after taking the situation under control.

Security personnel have fired some rounds of shots to take the situation under control.

Nepali Congress and CPN-UML are contesting the elections independently while CPN (Maoist Center) and CPN (Unified Socialist) have fielded a common candidate in the local level elections.

UML cadres are accused to have captured the booth.
