Eight, including administrative officers sued on corruption allegation

KATHMANDU: The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a corruption case against eight people, including two then administrative officers of Godavari Municipality in Kailali.

According to CIAA sources, the commission registered a case on Wednesday alleging corruption in the construction of 13 roads in the municipality.

CIAA has demanded Rs 3.69 million from the then administrative officer Khemraj Bisht, Rs 4.5 million from Devraj Joshi, Rs 8.2 million from engineer Purna Kunwar and Rs 2.5 million from sub-engineer Ram Chandra Bhandari.

Similarly, the commission filed the indictment alleging that sub-engineer Narendra Shahi embezzled Rs 1.7 million, sub-engineer Rajendra Bhandari Rs 3.6 million, lab technician Dhan Bahadur Bisht Rs 7.4 million and construction entrepreneur Dambar Chand Rs 8.2 million.
