KATHMANDU: The main opposition party CPN-UML has called a meeting of its Secretariat at 6 pm Sunday.
Earlier today, lawmakers from the ruling coalition filed an impeachment motion against Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana.
The UML Secretariat meeting is taking place at the residence of Chairman KP Sharma Oli in Balkot. UML has also called a meeting of the parliamentary party at 11 am on Monday.
The UML is against the impeachment motion against the Chief Justice. UML Chair Oli had been saying that removing only the chief justice would not solve the court’s problem. He would rather impeach all those judges sitting in the Constitutional Bench that overturned his decision to dissolve the House of Representatives.
