CJ Rana returns from SC after receiving impeachment letter



KATHMANDU: Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana, who had been at Supreme Court as on other days, has returned home after receiving the impeachment letter.

According to SC sources, the Parliament Secretariat informed Chief Justice Rana that an impeachment motion has been registered against him today.

“Chief Justice Rana was in the apex court, he returned home after receiving the impeachment letter the Federal Parliament Secretariat dispatched in his name,” the source told Khabarhub.

Earlier, 98 lawmakers of the ruling coalition filed an impeachment motion against Rana today. With the registration of the impeachment motion, the chief justice has been automatically suspended from his post.
