Delhi records 27,561 new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours



NEW DELHI: India’s capital New Delhi reported 27,561 fresh Covid-19 cases and 40 deaths in the last 24 hours.

The national capital recorded a case positivity report of 26.22 percent and the number of active coronavirus patients stood at 87,445, according to a health bulletin.

Delhi witnessed the highest jump in daily Covid-19 cases in nearly eight months.

On April 20 last year, the national capital reported 28,395 Covid-19 cases, which have remained the highest since the beginning of the pandemic, according to India Today.

Meanwhile, a whopping 1,700 Delhi Police personnel have tested positive for the Covid-19 infection since January 1, officials said, adding that a special camp has been organized for police headquarters staffers to administer booster doses to the eligible beneficiaries, India Today said.
