PM Deuba extends sorrow over Sapkota’s demise



CHITWAN: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has extended condolences to the family members of the late Tilak Prasad Sapkota, a social and political personality of Gaidakot.

PM Deuba reached the residence of the late Sapkota to extend condolences to the bereaved family members. Sapkota had passed away on November 9.

Reminding late Sapkota’s contribution to the democracy and Nepali Congress politics, PM Deuba viewed Sapkota’s demise is a huge loss to the party.

Nepali Congress leader Dr Shashank Koirala, Chief Minister of Gandaki Province, Krishna Chandra Nepali, Tourism Minister of Gandaki Province, Mani Bhandra Kandel, NC Nawalparasi President, Mahendra Dhoj GC, among others were present on the occasion.

Born in 2001 BS, Sapkota, a resident of Gaindakot Municipality-8, was a leading personality in politics and social sector of Nawalparasi district. He was suffering from asthma.

Earlier, PM Deuba reached the residence of NC central committee member Tek Prasad Gurung in Chitwan. Gurung’s wife Shir Maya Gurung had passed away on November 6.

On the occasion, he paid tribute to late Shir Maya and extended condolences to the bereaved family members. The 74-year-old Shir Maya was suffering from lung cancer.

Former Prime Minister and CPN (Maoist Centre) Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ as well as other leaders were also present on the occasion.
