Listikot-Dugunagadhi Mountain Trail Race on November 3



KATHMANDU: The third ‘Listikot-Dugunagadhi Mountain Trail Race’ will be taking place in Sindhupalchowk on coming November 3.

The event aims to promote historic and religious importance of Dugunagadhi and Listikot in Sindhupalchowk, according to the organizer Nepali Army.

The 24.5 kilometers race starting from the dry port on the banks of the Bhotekoshi River will go through the new bridge before concluding at Dugunagadhi, the NA Directorate of Public Relations and Information said.

The Listimai Temple and Dugunadahi remain along the route that was used during the Nepal-Tibet war.

The Nepal Army took initiatives to organise the competition that is expected to develop the place as a tourist destination by exposing historic and religious importance of Dugunagadhi and Listikot in Sindhupalchok district, it has been said.

The race is divided into three categories–open, women and the one for the residents of the district. Under open, winner, first runner-up and second runner-up will receive Rs 110,000 in cash, Rs 75,000 and Rs 55,000 respectively.

Similarly, under women, winner, first runner-up and second runner-up will get Rs 60,000 in cash, Rs 35,000 and Rs 20,000 respectively and certificates.

Under the one for the residents of the district, winner, first runner-up and second runner-up will get Rs 30,000 in cash, Rs 20,000 and Rs 15,000 respectively.
