Nov 20 election: 265 candidates in the fray in Kathmandu



KATHMANDU: A total of 265 candidates have filed their candidacies in 10 constituencies of Kathmandu in the November 20 House of Representatives elections.

According to the Election Commission, 32 candidates from various parties and independents have submitted their candidatures in Kathmandu Constituency-1.

The CPN-UML has fielded Kiran Paudel as its candidate in this constituency.

Likewise, Nepali Congress (NC) has fielded Prakash Man Singh on behalf of the ruling coalition in the same constituency.

The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has fielded Rabindra Mishra in Kathmandu Constituency-1.

Likewise, 31 candidates, including independents, have filed their candidatures in Kathmandu Constituency2.

Mani Ram Phuyal from CPN-UML, Onsari Gharti from Maoist Center and the ruling coalition, Kunti Devi Pokharel (Upadhyay) from Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Dhanez Thapa from Bibeksheel Sajha Party, and Sobita Gautam from Rastriya Swotantra Party have filed their candidacies in Kathmandu Constituency-2.

Likewise, a total of 24 candidates from various parties and independents have filed their candidacies in Kathmandu Constituency-3.

CPN-UML has nominated Krishna Bahadur Rai, Nepali Congress has nominated Santosh Chalise, Maoist Center Badri Prasad Bajgai, Rastriya Prajatantra Party has nominated Ganesh Giri and Rastriya Swotantra Party has nominated Durga Bikram Thapa Chhetri from this constituency.

Similarly, in Kathmandu Constituency-4, a total of 35 candidates have given their candidature.

CPN-UML’s Rajan Bhattarai, Nepali Congress leader Gagan Thapa from the ruling coalition, Rastriya Prajatantra Party’s Dr. Thakur Mohan Shrestha and the Rastriya Swotantra Party has nominated Arun Shrestha in Kathmandu Constituency-4.

Similarly, a total of 30 candidates have filed their candidacies in Kathmandu Constituency-5.

The candidates include Ishwor Pokharel from CPN-UML, Pradeep Paudel of Nepali Congress from the ruling coalition, and Ram Prasad Upreti from Rastriya Prajatantra Party.

Similarly, a total of 24 candidates from different parties and independents have filed their candidatures in Kathmandu Constituency-6.

The candidates include Sarbendra Khanal from UML, NC leader Bhimsen Das Pradhan from the ruling coalition, Bishnu Prasad Acharya from the Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Ajit Khadka from the Bibeksheel Sajha Party and Shishir Khanal from the Rastriya Swotantra Party.

Likewise, in Kathmandu Constituency-7, a total of 29 candidates have given their candidature.

The candidates include Shyam Kumar Ghimire from the CPN-UML, Manushi Yami Bhattarai from the Maoist Centre, Dhruba Bikram Malla of Rastriya Prajatantra Party and Ganesh Parajuli of Rastriya Swotantra Party.

Similarly, a total of 18 candidates have submitted their candidatures in Kathmandu Constituency-8.

The candidates include Shiv Sundar RajBaidya from the UML, Prakash Rimal from RPP, Jeevan Ram Shrestha of the Unified Socialist, and Biraj Bhakta Shrestha of the Rastriya Swotantra Party.

Similarly, 22 people have filed their candidatures from Kathmandu Constituency-9 in the November 20 election to the House of Representatives.

UML has fielded Krishna Gopal Shrestha, Maoist Center has nominated Kalpana Dhamala, RPP has fielded Devendra Pradhan, and Rastriya Swotantra Party has nominated Tek Bahadur Pokharel.

According to the Election Commission, 19 candidates from various parties and independents have been nominated in Kathmandu Constituency-10.

UML has nominated Himesh KC, NC has nominated Rajendra Kumar KC, Maoist Center has fielded Anjana Bishankhe, RPP has fielded Balaram Thapa, Bibeksheel Sajha Party had fielded Sanan Shrestha, Rastriya Swotantra Party has fielded and Pradip Bista on Kathmandu Constituency-10.
