Excessive rainfall inflicts loss on farmers



BAGLUNG: Immoderate rainfall has caused loss to the farmers here. The incessant rain has damaged harvest-ready crops in Baglung.

According to Agriculture Knowledge Centre Baglung, rainfall with windstorms has submerged and ruined paddy cultivated in some areas of Baglung while flooding inflicted damages to lemon and kiwi plantations.

This year paddy plantation was done in 600 hectares of land, Chief of Agriculture Knowledge Centre Bhanubhakta Bhatatrai shared.

“We have asked the authorities concerned to collect details of loss and damage caused by incessant rain in all local government units of Baglung. The Ministry of Agriculture has also followed up to send details of loss the rain inflicted to farmers”, he further noted.
