KATHMANDU: Two 12-13th century wooden struts stolen from the Narayan Temple at Hyumat Tole near Teku in the 1980s have been returned to their rightful places in Kathmandu on Tuesday.
An independent American art collector not only returned the struts to the Nepali Consulate General in New York but also covered the costs of delivering them back to Nepal, said the US Embassy in Kathmandu.
US Embassy Acting Deputy Chief of Mission Abigail Aronson joined Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Maheswar Neupane, today to welcome these beautiful Nepali cultural artifacts back to Kathmandu.
