384 candidates file nominations for RSP central committee elections

CHITWAN: A total of 384 candidates have filed nominations for central committee positions in the first general convention of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP).

According to the preliminary list published by the party’s Central Election Commission, 384 individuals have entered the race for central leadership positions.

RSP leader Sarita Gyawali said the claim and objection process has begun following the publication of the preliminary candidate list at the convention venue. Candidates and delegates have been given a specified period to register claims or objections regarding nominations.

After the completion of the verification process, the Election Commission will publish the final list of candidates and proceed with updating their details in the electronic voting system before polling begins.

Ram Rimal, a representative of Ram Laxman Machine, the company managing the electronic voting system, said it would take approximately four to five hours to upload and verify the details of all 384 candidates in the voting machines.

The party is preparing to conduct elections for its central leadership through an electronic voting system during the convention.

The convention is expected to elect a new central committee that will lead the party in the coming years.
