Four including a headmaster nabbed for raping a child



OKHALDHUNGA: Four persons, including a headmaster, have been jailed in Okhaldhunga for raping a girl.

According to DSP Sukdev Khanal, the chief of Okhaldhunga Police, the four accused have been remanded in custody for trial.

The Okhaldhunga District Court on Monday remanded Headmaster Purna Prasad Phuyal, 40, of Siddhicharan Municipality-2, Dambar Bhujel, 32, of Siddhicharan Municipality-3, Kewal Bhujel, 31, of the same ward and Fadindra Prasad Dahal, 76, in custody on charges of rape.

DSP Khanal said that the four have been sent to the district jail as per the court order.

He informed that the accused had raped the girl on different dates taking her to different places. They had used threats, blackmailing, and the temptation to rape the girl.

Police arrested the four accused in June on the basis of a complaint filed by the girl’s relatives. Various student organizations have demanded strict action against the school headmaster for his involvement in the incident.
