CCP foreign department chief Liu holding talks with Oli, Nepal and Khanal today



KATHMANDU: Visiting head of the International Liaison Department of the Chinese Communist Party, Liu Jianchao will continue meetings with leaders of Nepal’s Communist party leaders today as well.

He is scheduled to meet CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli, Chairmanof Unified Socialist Party Madhav Kumar Nepal, and senior leader Jhalanath Lhanal.

It is said that they will discuss current political issues in the meeting, and the possibility of forming a Left alliance in Nepal.

He has already met Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, Foreign Minister Dr. Narayan Khadka, and Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda”.

During the meeting, issues of mutual interest were discussed.

He will return home on Wednesday.

Liu arrived in Kathmandu on Sunday on a four-day visit to Nepal leading a six-member team.

This is Liu’s first visit to Nepal after his appointment as the Foreign Department Chief.
