Bill on Citizenship will be endorsed soon: Minister Karki

KATHMANDU: Minister for Communications Gyanendra Bahadur Karki has said that the recently registered bill on citizenship would be endorsed at the earliest on the basis of the political consensus of all parties including CPN-UML.

He assured that the incumbent government will not deprive anyone of citizenship identity cards.

Speaking at a program in Inuruwa, Minister Karki said that around 500,000-600,000 youths in the country are facing various problems in the lack of citizenship identity cards.

Minister Karki lamented that those youth are also deprived of public services such as health and education, privileges and schemes provided by the State to its citizens.

He reaffirmed the commitment of the incumbent government to address that issue based on consensus.
