KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that Nijgadh International Airport will be constructed somewhere closer to the proposed area.

Talking to a delegation after receiving a memorandum from the Nijgadh Public Concern Committee, which has been demanding the construction of Nijgadh International Airport in Nijgadh of Bara, PM Deuba said that the government will construct Nijgadh Airport in an area little east of the proposed site.

Even though the government had a plan to construct an airport in ​​Nijgadh, the Supreme Court overturned the decision regarding airport construction.
