Girl injured in leopard attack



DAMAULI: A girl has been injured after coming under the attack of a leopard at Bandipur Rural municipality-4 in Tanahu district on Saturday evening.

The injured has been identified as eight-year-old Riyana Thapa, according to the District Police Office.

The injured girl is undergoing treatment at Moti Medical College, Dumre. According to the outgoing chairman of Bandipur rural municipality, Purna Singh Thapa, a leopard attacked the girl who has injuries to her neck.

The condition of the injured girl is reported to be stable.

The girl had come out of the house seeing her parents return home from the market, when she came under a sudden attack from the leopard, which ran away after her parents came to her rescue.

In the last few years, there has been frequent attack by leopards in various municipalities of the district.

Meanwhile, the Division One Office has urged parents and guardians to not leave their children alone outside the house especially in the evening to avoid leopard attack.
