20 injured as NC and Maoist Center cadres clash with each other



DHADING: More than 20 people have been injured in a clash between Nepali Congress (NC) cadres and CPN (Maoist Center) cadres at Bhorle in Nilkantha Municipality-6 of the Dhading district.

Nepali Congress ward president candidate Bhupendra Kumar Shrestha has been seriously injured in the clash.

According to the police, he sustained injuries on his head, right eye, teeth, and other parts of his body. Another 20 people sustained injuries in the clash, police said.

The injured are undergoing treatment at Dhading Hospital. According to locals, the clash took place during the election campaign on Wednesday night even during the silence period.

He said that the clash took place when the cadres of the two parties engaged in electioneering clashed.

The NC, on the other hand, said that its cadres were attacked again by the Maoist cadres.

After the clash, the NC and the Maoist Center are blaming each other. A Maoist cadre said that the fight started after the NC attacked the Maoist cadres.

In Dhading, an election alliance has been forged between the Nepali Congress, the Maoist Center, and the Unified Socialists.

In Nilkantha municipality, the mayor belongs to the Nepali Congress and the deputy mayor belongs to the Maoist Center.
