“Launch of The Body Shop a good gesture of Nepal-UK trade relations”



KATHMANDU: British Ambassador to Nepal, Nicola Pollitt inaugurated the ‘The Body Shop’ at Durbar Marg on Tuesday.

She visited the Daruabr Marg-based store owned by Sashi Incorporation and Investment Pvt Ltd, and lauded the launch of the store in Kathmandu.

“The Body Shop” is a UK-based beauty brand that falls under the top 10 beauty brands worldwide.

Stating that “The Body Shop” in the UK was the first-ever cosmetic brand, British Ambassador Pollitt labeled the launch of the store as an “exciting moment”, and that it was a good gesture of Nepal-Britain trade relations.

Sashi Incorporation and Investment Pvt Ltd organized the launch event to commemorate the trade relationship between Nepal and United Kingdom.

Likewise, Managing Director of Sashi Incorporation, Saru Aryal Pradhan said that this was an endeavor to be the gateway to officially entering the beauty sector having an international reputation.

“The products are environment friendly; raw materials are organically farmed without chemical culture and are the first brand that is cruelty-free,” she said.

According to her, tribal communities from around the world are engaged in building sustainable businesses.

Its franchises are spread over 84 countries having around 3,500 stores worldwide.

The Body Shop, a British cosmetic, skincare, and perfume company; founded in 1976 in Brighton by the late Dame Anita Roddick, is a forerunner in the ethical, green beauty movement.

With a history of championing local communities through its bespoke Community Fair Trade (CFT) program; The Body Shop sources its ingredients, accessories, and packaging from over 30 CFT partners all over the world.
