MCC accepted for development: General Secretary Sharma



KATHMANDU: General Secretary of Nepali Congress, Bishwa Prakash Sharma, has said the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) compact was accepted for the development of country. General Secretary Sharma said it during a program organized by NC Bhadrapur-10 here Saturday.

“Development is impossible only with the country’s production, so the US aid project was accepted,” he said, adding that MCC would be utilized to make Nepal known as the country rich with the production and sale of electricity.

He argued that those who were playing in the divisive politics showing the US-China rivalry were spreading misinformation about MCC. Sharma further made it clear that NC stood for MCC compact not for vote but for country’s future.

He underscored that MCC is for the construction of transmission line and road expansion.
