NC leader Pajiyar elected as president in Dhanusha



KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress leader Yogendra Pajiyar has been elected as the president of Nepali Congress Dhanusha District Working Committee.

Pajiyar, who is close to Bimalendra Nidhi, won the elections by defeating Santosh Yadav from the establishment side by a wide margin of votes in the second phase of elections.

Yadav had been backed by President Sher Bahadur Deuba, Deputy General Secretary Mahendra Yadav, and central working committee member Ananda Dhungana.

Dinesh Parsela, who became third in the first phase of elections, had extended support to Pajiyar. Parsela is from Dr Shekhar Koirala group.

Pajiyar garnered 1,735 votes to become the president of Dhanusha district while his Yadav got 1046 votes.
