Prachanda asks PM Deuba if he is trying to remove Speaker Sapkota

KATHMANDU: CPN-Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has asked Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba if he is trying to remove Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota.

A discussion was held between Prime Minister Deuba, Prachanda and CPN-Maoist Center Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar on Saturday. Prachanda asked Prime Minister Deuba about speaker, a leader close to him said.

Chair Nepal and Prachanda demanded an answer from the Prime Minister saying that they had heard rumors that signatures had been collected to remove the speaker.

In response, Prime Minister Deuba said that it was unthinkable to remove the speaker. “It is unthinkable and no such (signatures) have not been collected. Let’s not waste time talking about unnecessary rumors,” said the leader, who heard Prachanda’s briefing on Deuba’s response.
