Central bank introduces digital loan system

KATHMANDU: Now, clients can get loans digitally from banks and financial institutions with the introduction of a guideline related to digital loans.

The Nepal Rastra Bank issued the guideline amid a function here on Friday.

With this, those clients having salary, professional and business saving bank accounts can take loans up to Rs 500,000 digitally. The duration for paying back the loan is three years in lump sum or on installment basis.

For this, banks and financial institutions have to create separate websites for the loan process like receiving applications. Loan application approval will be provided digitally.
