Election Commission convenes all-party meeting Friday



KATHMANDU: The Election Commission (EC) has called an all-party meeting to discuss various issues related to election, including the forthcoming National Assembly election.

According to EC Spokesperson  Shaligram Sharma Poudel, the Commission has called an all party meeting for 11:30 am, Friday.

EC has called 17 parties which have their representatives in the federal parliament, province assembly and local levels for the meeting.

“National Assembly election is at hand. We are  preparing for local level elections as well,” Spokesperson Poudel said, adding, “We have various issues including those election and voter registration.”

Elections are being held for 19 members of the National Assembly on January 26. The commission has also started preparations for the local elections to be held in April.
