Prachanda suspects “foreign manipulation” during election

KATHMANDU: CPN-Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has claimed that there was foreign interference in the recently-concluded elections.

Speaking at the central officials’ meeting of Press Center Nepal in Kathmandu on Sunday, the Maoist Center Chairman remarked that the foreign forces have been trying to manipulate Nepal’s politics and that could include selecting who to make winner or loser.

He also said that America and China have interests in Nepal’s geopolitics.

Prachanda added that the Maoist Center should proceed cautiously in the context of increasing foreign influence.

The Maoist Chair also expressed concern that the Maoist Center’s genuine identity seemed fading and instructed the leaders and cadres to strive further to maintain the unique identity of the party.
