Chair Oli lambasts rebellion candidates

DHARAN: Chairperson of the CPN UML, KP Sharma Oli, has said people would not vote for the rebellion candidates, but for the candidates of the alliance of UML and its ally.

Addressing a joint election assembly of the UML-JSP in Dharan on Friday, the UML Chairperson reiterated that people would not favor the candidates who flouted the party rule and fielded rebellion candidacy. He lambasted the rebellion candidates that they grossly ignored works for people but yearned for post and power.

According to him, the campaign of independent candidacy was launched as a conspiracy against party system and democracy. “People don’t need to be swayed by the independent candidate. UML is a disciplined political party,” he asserted.

He directed the party cadres to provide security to the ballot boxes and impart voter education to people.

The Chairperson argued that once Ashok Rai was ensured victory from Dharan, he would assure development.

Oli also hinted that Ashok Rai would be minister in the government to be made after November 20 election to the House of Representatives and Provincial Assemblies.

“National budget is required for solving drinking water problems and intensifying development activities in Dharan. It needs UML government,” Chair Oli argued.

On the occasion, Rai, who is the candidate for HoR member from constituency-1 of Sunsari, viewed voting for him would not be a waste but investment.
