Ruling coalition directs rebel candidates to withdraw nominations



KATHMANDU: Ruling coalition partners have directed rebel candidates filing nominations for the November 20 elections to withdraw their nominations on time.

Rebel leaders who submitted their candidatures against the official candidates backed by the Nepali Congress, Maoist Center, CPN Unified Socialist and Rastriya Janamorcha have been urged to withdraw their nominations within the stipulated time.

A meeting of the ruling coalition held today (Tuesday) decided that such leaders who would disobey the instruction would be expelled by the respective parties.

The Election Commission has set deadline of 1 pm Wednesday to withdraw candidatures.
